Corrections: March 10, 2026
Three errors went out in today's newsletters. Here's what happened.
The Signal framed Anthropic's amicus brief as revealing Claude's role in classified government systems. It didn't reveal anything. We covered Claude's Pentagon integration ourselves on March 6. Framing known information as a new disclosure is sloppy, and two paragraphs in the same piece rehashed analysis we'd already published without adding anything new. Both have been corrected.
Bright Signals covered OpenAI's gpt-oss models as a new release. They came out in August 2025. Our pipeline picked up an Oracle hosting announcement from March 4 that mentioned gpt-oss and treated it as news. The entire section has been removed.
Why this happened: Our automated pipeline verifies whether facts are accurate, but it wasn't checking whether stories were actually new. Article publication dates don't equal event dates, and the pipeline wasn't cross-referencing our own prior coverage. Both are obvious checks we should have had from day one.
What we fixed:
- All three errors corrected in the live posts
- Added event date verification to all seven publishing prompts
- Added a rehash prevention step that checks our last seven days of coverage before drafting
- Added a Freshness review seat to our editorial council
